Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Digital Closet platform, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or rules referenced herein. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the platform.

2. User Accounts

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. Users between 14 and 18 must have parental consent. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration
• Complete identity verification when required
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Not create multiple accounts or transfer your account to others

3. Listing Rules

Lenders who list items on Digital Closet must adhere to the following rules:

• You must be the legal owner of the item or authorised to rent it
• Listings must include accurate descriptions, photos, and measurements
• Items must be clean, in good condition, and as described
• Counterfeit or replica items are strictly prohibited
• Items must comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Pricing must be set in good faith and reflect the item's value

4. Rental Agreements

When a renter books an item, a rental agreement is formed between the renter and the lender, with Digital Closet acting as the facilitating platform. Both parties agree to:

• Honour the agreed rental dates and terms
• Communicate promptly regarding any issues
• Return items on time and in the condition received, accounting for normal wear
• Follow our insurance and dispute resolution processes if issues arise

5. Payments and Fees

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. The following fee structure applies:

• Digital Closet charges a 20% platform fee on each rental transaction
• Lenders receive 80% of the rental price after the fee deduction
• Renters pay the full listed price, which includes the platform fee
• All prices are displayed in Euros (€)
• Payouts to lenders are processed within 48 hours of a completed return

6. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are handled as follows:

• Renter cancellations:Full refund if cancelled more than 7 days before the rental start date. 50% refund if cancelled 3–7 days before. No refund within 3 days of the start date.
• Lender cancellations: Lenders should avoid cancelling confirmed bookings. Repeated cancellations may result in account penalties or suspension.

7. Liability

Digital Closet acts as a marketplace connecting lenders and renters. While we provide insurance coverage and facilitate transactions, we are not a party to the rental agreements between users. We are not liable for the condition, authenticity, or fit of items listed by lenders, nor for the actions of individual users. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

8. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between a renter and a lender, we encourage both parties to resolve the matter directly through our platform messaging system. If a resolution cannot be reached:

• Either party may file a formal dispute through their dashboard
• Our support team will review the case and gather evidence from both sides
• A resolution will be provided within 10 business days
• Decisions are final and binding within the scope of the platform, without prejudice to your legal rights
